Melek Başak Aldı was admitted to the Istanbul Bar Association in 2020 and joined AKT Law Firm in 2022. She is a dual-qualified lawyer, admitted as a Solicitor of England and Wales in 2025.
Başak has experience in sale and purchase of vessels, project and ship finance transactions for both domestic and international financial institutions, negotiation of shipbuilding contracts, and dispute resolution through arbitration. She advises domestic and international shipowners, banks and financial institutions, ship and yacht yards, P&I Clubs, and agencies on various aspects of maritime and insurance law.
